Welcome to the Competitive Pokémon Network Blog!
The Competitive Pokémon Network Blog was created by and for Pokémon Wi-Fi battlers. Here you may requests battles and get news about Pokémon games. When battling here, you must always follow the general rules of the official Pokémon Video Game Championship rules and regulations (listed below). I want to make it clear that the use of Smogon's rules, clauses, etc. is PROHIBITED. For example, Smogon claims that Wobbuffet is banned in battles, or that you can't put both Pokémon to sleep at the same time. The reality is that these and any other of Smogon's rules are simply not true for Wi-Fi battles or any battles using any Pokémon Game. Smogon created it's rules and tiers for the use of it's battle simulator, not Wi-Fi or in game. While I respect Smogon for it's strategies, I have noticed that people on Wi-Fi like to use statements such as "OU ONLY" or "NO UBERS". Game Freak never supported these bans.

Restricted Pokémon
During battle, a player's team of four Pokémon may not have more than two Pokémon from the list below. A player's may contain up to four Pokémon from the list below, as long as two non-restricted Pokémon are also listed on the sheet.
150 - Mewtwo
249 - Lugia
250 - Ho-Oh
382 - Kyogre
383 - Groudon
384 - Rayquaza

*Latias and Latios may be used so long as they do not hold the Soul Dew.
*If you battle on this site, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO USE THE RULES ABOVE, AS LONG AS BOTH BATTLERS AGREE. THE RULES ARE ONLY GENERAL, BUT CAN BE CHANGED IF BOTH PLAYERS AGREE.
